The Euro-Area Economy Modelling Centre EEMC organizes a conference in Brussels, in October 12-13. The conference seeks to provide answers to the issue of fiscal policy in EMU from the perspective of modern quantitative macroeconomic analysis as incorporated in DSGE models. Among the topics to be addressed are: evaluation of fiscal stabilization with DSGE models, effectiveness of fiscal policy in a currency union with idiosyncratic shocks, optimal fiscal rules for the Euro Area, the the relationship between monetary and fiscal policy and the role of automatic stabilizers [Link].
