To analyse the research and policy challenges in inflation targeting, central bank independence and transparency, a two-day conference is organised on 15-16 June 2007 at the University of Cambridge. The keynote speakers are Jordi Gali, Jose Manuel Gonzalez-Paramo, Lars Svensson, Paul Tucker and Carl Walsh. The topics that the conference shall address include anmong others: the success of inflation targeting, whether transparency contributes to more successful monetary policy, and whether there should be more coordination between fiscal and monetary policy.
